Satin Smooth
Waxing your way to smoother skin.
By shaving you are actually doing a disservice to your skin. Here’s why:
Shaving with a razor or an electric shaver stimulates the sebaceous glands, which sends signals for reproduction to the hair follicles. Cutting hair just above the epidermis sends signals to the sebaceous glands to immediately reproduce, which is why hair grows back in a day or two. The shaving process not only results in thicker, denser hair but it can also trigger dormant hairs that have not matured, to start growing hair. Studies show that extracting hair from the root (papilla) by use of a depilatory waxing product weakens the hair follicles and slows down the reproduction signals, resulting in finer, slower re-growth.
Waxing Tips
-Re-schedule your appointments right after your last service at the salon or spa to ensure a proper waxing regimen.
-Always exfoliate skin with a natural loofah brush in a circular motion against hair growth. Scrubbing up and down will not allow pores to open and remove oil and dead skin cells.
RED ALERT
Do you suffer from skin breakouts after waxing? Here’s what you can do:
-Avoid direct sunlight for up to 24 hours after a waxing service.
-Do not touch newly waxed area unless your hands have been cleaned or sanitized. Your hands are a bed of bacteria.
-Avoid taking a hot shower right after a waxing service.
